A Solution

In the mid 1930's a couple of guys were gifted with a solution to a very serious problem that had been troubling them both and threatening to kill them. The solution was simple. These men had realized they had to quit playing God and needed to let go of the things in their lives that they could not control. Once they decided to do this and committed to practicing this way of life, their serious problem became non-existent. This is a true story and their solution has proven to work for countless (+millions) of people since then.
The first and immediate "problem" that arises when people hear this idea is the "god-thing"... However, this intial fear is quickly relieved when people realize that it doesn't matter what you believe, or if you are "religious" or not. The lable: God, Spirit, Life, Energy, Chi, Ki, Prana, Budda, Krishna, Mother Earth, whatever.. is not relevent. The only thing that seems to be crucial is the understanding that we are not the end all be all, we are only a piece of it.
The mere acceptance that there could be some force out there that is greater than us and is really all we need to gain enough humility to begin to let go of our problems.
The second part of the solution, giving up control and letting go, sounds simple but can bring up quite a bit of fear when we actually try it. The honest truth is this, there is very little in this life that we can control and some would argue that there is nothing that is absolutely under our control... Still many people cling to control as a way to prove that they have some purpose or power in life, but this is false. The opposite is actually true.
The proof is with us...when we pay attention to what/who we are trying to control and look at the results of our efforts (long term results) the truth speaks for itself. The realization of this "lack of control" can be devasting for some people but our thoughts eventually return to the Source and then we realize that in the percieved weakness we have found true strength.
