Think Good Thoughts

"The only experience we can possibly have is of our own thinking. To Truly understand this can change your life." Jack Pransky, PhD; Somebody Should Have Told Us!

Six years ago I read the Power of Now by Eckart Tolle and it changed my perspective completely. This book, Somebody Should Have Told Us! is another one of those pivotal books for me. Reading this book has changed my experience of life...completely.

I have struggled for much of my adult life with periodic depression. I have been doing quite a bit over the years to try to help myself such as: self help books, seminars, yoga, meditation, journaling, prayer, excersize, counseling, life coaching etc.. All of these things have been very helpful and I have gained great insights and understanding about who I am, what I am and Life in general.

What I am learning today is, it REALLY matters what is going on in my head and that is what I need to be interested in. If I want to be happy I literally need to think happy thoughts. Believe me when I tell you, I know how cliche' this sounds, but it is ABSOLUTELY true. Somehow (I believe through prayer and meditation) I have been able to bring this understanding from my head to my heart, and that has made all the difference. This book entered my life when I was ready to apply and feel the contents of it.

So...I have been experimenting with this concept by not letting a negative thought stay for even a minute in my head. I just notice it come in and let it roll right on by. If need be I replace whatever it is with a positive statement. It's amazing because it is just as easy to CHOOSE to think something positive as it is to think something negative. Do you ever notice if you think of a happy memory you actually feel happy and if you think of a sad memory you actually feel sad? Our thoughts create our emotions and I for one want to be happy and feel good. So I am committed to thinking good thoughts.

This also allows the God of my understanding to Create through me, this happens because He is Good and I am aligned with Him and excersizing my will power to stay in alignment with Him. Good things happen when we think good thoughts.

I know some will say, but"Bad"things happen as well... I say it all depends on what you think about that "bad" thing ...that's what will create the emotions we feel and the emotions will create the experience...So think good thoughts, create Good things and truly LIVE.
God Bless!

always at the right time, our these beautiful messages you share. It's really "perspective" from the spiritual view of putting it all within ultimate meaning, so thinking about the whole of all experiences can bring tremendous joy, as well a potent dosage of presence into the moments we live by...I think...oh better make this a good one, that choosing to think, well with heart in mind, is a beautful aspect of demonstrating faith, an ultimate surrender, to infinite intelligence and a/the brilliant divine blueprint, willing it into creation : )
